Sullivan County continues to top state in new jobs

ALBANY – Sullivan County, with 8.0 percent new jobs growth, continued to have the highest rate of new jobs in the state during the 12-month period ending in November.

Greene County, with 4.0 percent job growth, was second in the state. Columbia County, with a 1.7 percent increase, followed with Ulster County scoring 1.6 percent additional jobs.

The Dutchess-Putnam Metropolitan Division saw 1.4 percent while the Orange-Rockland-Westchester Metro Area has an increase of 0.6 percent in November.

Region-wide, new jobs in the Hudson Valley grew by 8,200 or 1.0 percent to 824,100.

Gains were largest in education and health services (+5,400); leisure and hospitality (+4,300): natural resources, mining and construction (+2,700), and financial activities (+1,600). Losses were largest in trade, transportation and utilities (-3,600) and other services (-1,500).
