Two shot in City of Newburgh

NEWBURGH – Police are investigating the shooting of two men early Thursday morning in the City of Newburgh.

Police received a Shot Spotter alert of several gunshots in the area of 45 City Terrace at around 2:30 a.m.

Officers found Newburgh City resident Tykeith Stevenson, 31, who had been shot several times. He was transported by ambulance to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital and was uncooperative with investigators.

He was listed in critical but stable condition.

While officers were on the scene attending to Stevenson, Newburgh dispatch received a call from St. Luke’s ER of another gunshot victim. When officers went to the hospital, they found Newburgh city resident Kyle Davis, 27, who had been shot twice in the chest. He, too, was uncooperative with investigators.

He was listed in critical but stable condition.

The investigation is being handled by Newburgh detectives and the Non-Fatal Shooting Task Force.
