State provides $59 million for Hudson Valley water infrastructure improvements

ALBANY – The state Environmental Facilities Corporation has awarded $58.9 million for Hudson Valley water facilities infrastructure projects.

The estimated total cost of the 37 projects is $190 million.

To assist with the cost of installing systems to address emerging contaminants, grants for the projects will no longer be capped at $3 million but will cover 60 percent of total capital project costs. Projects eligible for the grants include those which combat emerging contaminants like PFOA, PFOS, and 1.4-dioxane, with system upgrades and innovative technologies.

Hudson Valley grants include:

  • Village of Catskill – $4.8 million project; $2.9 million grant
  • City of Kingston – phase 2 transmission main rehab and phase 2 SCADA – total $1.5 million; $900,000 grant
  • Village of Millerton – water system improvements – total $1.13 million; $675,600 grant
  • Town of Crawford – Dwaar Kill-Pine Bush water supply construction project – $3.8 million total; $2.3 million grant
  • Village of New Paltz – water main replacement – $5.1 million total; $3 million grant
  • Town of Wappinger – interconnection – Town of Wappinger, Village of Wappingers Falls, Wappingers Falls-Woodhill Green – $2.6 million total; $1 million grant
  • Village of Fishkill – wastewater treatment plant upgrade – $16.5 million total; $4.1 million grant
  • City of Newburgh – filter upgrades, SCADA improvement – $5 million total; $3 million grant
  • Town of New Windsor – Clarkview Road surcharging mitigation – $1.5 million total; $392,188 grant
  • Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson – Improvement to the Taylor Road wellfield; $1.7 million total cost; $1 million grant
  • Village of Florida – DBP removal – $5.3 million total; $3 million grant
  • Village of South Blooming Grove – Merriewold Wellfield improvements; $1.1 million total; $660,00 grant
  • Town of Monroe – Water District #12 well house improvements – $1.5 million total; $898,000 grant
  • City of Peekskill – Lower South Street sanitary sewer upgrade – $3 million total; $750,000 grant
  • Village of Suffern – $9 million total for wastewater treatment plant upgrade; $2.2 million grant
  • Village of Ossining – Indian Brook water treatment plant, $38.3 million total; $3 million grant
  • Village of Nyack – water main and value replacement – $10.4 million total; $3 million grant
  • Village of Mount Kisco – Saw Mill River pump station upgrade – $9.5 million total; $2.4 million grant
  • Town of Lewisboro – Oakridge Water District improvements – $482,500 total; $289,500 grant
  • Rockland County – main pump station upgrade – $11.5 million total; $2.9 million grant
  • City of White Plains – city sanitary sewer rehab – $1.4 million total; $363,000 grant
  • Village of Bronxville – sanitary sewer cleaning, lining, manhole repair – $1.1 million total; $284,000 grant
  • City o Yonkers – Lamartine and Warburton avenues interzone water transmission project – $2.8 million total; $1.7 million grant
  • Village of Mamaroneck – Sanitary sewer rehab – $4.4 million total; $1 million grant
