MONTICELLO – A Fallsburg man was sentenced in Sullivan County Court on Thursday to up to 30 years in state prison to be followed by five years of post-release supervision on his conviction for felony criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Jason Perulli

Jason Perulli, 42, was convicted of possessing over eight ounces of cocaine and heroin, inside his residence at 80 Zimmerman Road in the Town of Fallsburg on October 25, 2018. The drugs had a combined street value of over $30,000.

Police also seized close to $8,000 in cash in the home.

Perulli was also convicted of possessing scales with intent to use them for drug distribution, as well as driving with a suspended or revoked license.

The trial jury rejected Perulli’s argument that it was his wife, not Perulli, who possessed the dangerous drugs. She died following his arrest.

Chief Assistant District Attorney Meagan Galligan argued for a sentence of 30 years in prison as he was a substantial drug trafficker. “This defendant is an experienced drug dealer who previously engaged in the simultaneous possession of narcotics and a loaded weapon.”
