LAKE KATRINE – Grace Community Evangelical Free Church, one of Ulster County’s largest churches, is holding its 3rd-annual Live Nativity from 5-8 p.m. on Dec. 14. The church is at 160 Seremma Court in Lake Katrine, N.Y.
The event will feature a Nativity scene with live animals, characters, narration, and a light show as well as a Victorian choir with members dressed in period garb. A children’s choir of angels will also be performing.
Visitors will park and walk to view the choirs and Live Nativity, which will be on the church grounds.
“We want our neighbors to forget about the commercialism for one night and experience the true meaning of Christmas,” says Robert Mitchell, one of the event’s organizers. “It’s a great family event and everything is free. We’ve had people tell us this event takes them back to their childhood and reminds them of a simpler time.”
The church, located at 160 Seremma Court in Lake Katrine will be serving refreshments and providing free bibles inside.
