Greene County man seriously injured when his motorcycle strikes deer

SAUGERTIES – A 49-year-old Greenville man is in Albany Medical Center in critical but stable condition, according to Saugerties Police, who investigated an accident shortly after 12 noon on Sunday, November 3.

Police responded to the area of Route 212 and Shagbark Pond Road in the Town of Saugerties for a reported accident between a motorcycle and a deer.

Investigation determined Kyle Lewis was operating a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle westerly on Route 212 when a deer entered the road into the path of bike.

Lewis sustained massive trauma, was treated at the scene by Diaz Ambulance paramedics and then was airlifted to Albany Medical Center where he underwent emergency service.
