Pedestrian killed by Metro-North train in Port Jervis

PORT JERVIS – A 53-year-old Port Jervis man was struck and killed by a westbound Metro-North Railroad train on Jersey Avenue in the City of Port Jervis Tuesday night.

Police Chief William Worden said the victim was a pedestrian on the tracks behind the Family Dollar Store.

Port Jervis Police and MTA Police are investigating.

More information is expected to be released on Wednesday.

West of Hudson Metro-North service is operated by NJ Transit.
