CORTLANDT – State Police have arrested two men on charges that they used mortar-type fireworks to blow up mail boxes in the Cortlandt Manor area.

Christopher Servedio, 19, and Kyle Louch, 20, both of Cortlandt were charged with a felony of criminal mischief and a misdemeanor of arson. Servedio was also charged with additional counts of criminal mischief and arson.

On August 26, troopers responded to two residences shortly after 10 p.m. in the Cortlandt Manor area where they found two mailboxes blown up. A third one was destroyed on September 2 in the Montrose area.

Investigation alleged the men used the fireworks to blow up the mailboxes in Cortlandt Manor and Servedio was also charged with using explosives on the Montrose mailbox.

Both Louch and Servedio were arraigned and released on their own recognizance pending a future court appearance.

Police did not say if any US Mail was destroyed.
