Child killed in Columbia County car crash

COPAKE – A Craryville child was killed in a two-car crash on Columbia County Route 7A on Wednesday evening.

State Police said Caleb Dier, 7, was in a southbound car driven by Christina Gubler, 28, of Craryville when she lost control in wet conditions and entered the opposite lane, striking a vehicle.

Michael Super, 71, of Hudson was driving the Toyota Avalon that was struck by Gubler’s Honda Civic. He was injured along with passenger Mary Super, 71. They were transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson along with Gubler, all of whom sustained serious, but not believed to be life-threatening injuries, police said.

Also responding to the scene were Copake Fire Department, Northern Dutchess Paramedics, Copake Rescue, the Columbia County EMS coordinator, and Troop K State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.
