MONTICELLO – The Hudson Valley-Catskills has morphed into one large region with the casino, waterpark, upscale spa, Legoland and what appears to be countless growth in hotel development to support an influx of tourists and business people.

Sullivan County Partnership President Marc Baez said the regional approach will continue to improve opportunities.

“The whole country is doing well; the whole region is doing well,” Baez said. “We are working regionally with our partners, the Orange County Partnership on the 17Forward86. All of this stuff matters in terms of how we continue to promote our county, our region, our state, and drive investment and job growth here in the Hudson Valley-Catskills region.”

One future project that will bring the region closer together is the proposed widening of Route 17, the future Interstate 86, from two to three lanes in each direction, from Harriman to Monticello.
