Traffic, revenue, up on Mid-Hudson bridges

HIGHLAND – Traffic and revenue increased in the first five months of the year compared to the same period in 2018 on the five Mid-Hudson River crossings.

Statistics provided by the New York State Bridge Authority show total traffic rise by 1.64 percent, going from 24.92 million vehicle crossings last year to 25.33 million so far in 2019.

Revenues rose by 1.22 percent, going from $22.89 million in 2018 to $23.17 million so far this year.

The Bear Mountain Bridge saw the largest traffic and revenue gains, with a 2.88 percent increase in traffic with a 3.16 percent increase in revenue.

The Rip Van Winkle Bridge had the smallest increase in traffic at 0.80 percent while the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge had the smallest percentage increase in revenue, at 0.63 percent.
