SAUGERTIES – Saugerties Police responded to Partition and Russel streets for a report of women with a knife was chasing a male.
Upon arrival officers observed Michael Newman, 33, wielding a large hammer, and a female and another male screaming and yelling.
Investigation established that Newman had approached and threatened another individual with the hammer. He was charged with the misdemeanor menacing and released pending a future court appearance.
