PORT JERVIS – A comprehensive plan for the City of Port Jervis is in final draft form and ready for public hearings.

Councilman-at-Large David Bavoso told the Common Council Monday night that the 343-page document has been a major endeavor.

“This has been a two-and-a-half-year project,” Bavoso said.  “Not having a plan like this in place has been a hindrance as far as getting funding for projects but also helps define where the city is going to be headed.”

Public hearings will be held on July 25, at the committee level and August 12 for the full common Council.  Both hearings are at 7 p.m.

The council could adopt the plan on August 12.
