Bank robbed in Wappinger

WAPPINGER — A police manhunt is on for a suspect who held up the TrustCo bank branch at 1490 Route 9 in Wappinger late this morning.

Police sources say a man entered the bank, said he had a bomb and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was described as five-feet, nine-inches tall, wearing tight black jeans and a blue hoodie.

Initial police reports indicate he made off with as much as $20,000 to $30,000 in cash.
