Two arrested for attempted robbery in Town of Poughkeepsie

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Two City of Poughkeepsie men were arrested by Poughkeepsie Town Police for an attempted robbery on Dutchess Turnpike.

Police said the victim was walking on the road around 1:50 a.m. on June 15 when he was approached by the suspects, Robert Brown, 22, and Randy Valladares, 19, who demanded money and attacked him by grabbing and punching him.

The victim escaped and call 911. He sustained facial injuries but refused medical treatment.

The suspects were located near the crime scene and taken into custody.

Brown and Valladares were charged with two counts of attempted robbery, assault, and conspiracy, all as felonies, and a misdemeanor of menacing. Both are in the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond.
