NEWBURGH – The Rowley Family Foundation Fund, a component of the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan, has announced grants through its Fund for Women and Children.

The awards total $516,791, all with a common goal, said Elizabeth Rowley, president of the Community Foundation and a member of the Rowley family.

“That was to 15 very different organizations and very different programs in a lot of different areas, but there certainly was a common element of trying to empower women and children to move their lives forward in a positive direction,” Rowley said.

Recipients were from Orange, Sullivan and Ulster counties.

The foundation received 87 requests totaling $2.7 million.
