Valencia, in court

WHITE PLAINS – A New Rochelle man pled guilty in Westchester County Court on Tuesday to charges related to the shooting of a Yonkers Police officer in September 2017 and an unrelated case in New Rochelle.
Frank Valencia, 19, pled guilty to two counts of attempted aggravated murder of a police officer and criminal possession of a weapon.
The indictments allege that Valencia was involved in the shooting of a Yonkers police officer around 8 p.m. on September 256, 2017. Two officers responded to reports of a suspicious parked car in the Park Hill section of Yonkers and as they got out of their patrol car, Valencia, who was with another man, opened fire and shot one of the officers in the jaw.
Valencia also pled guilty to criminal possession of a weapon stemming from a September 11, 2017 incident in New Rochelle where he fired a weapon several times at a vehicle occupied by several people. No one was injured.
