POUGHKEEPSIE – With no fanfare, the Poughkeepsie Common Council has adopted a 2019 city budget of over $50 million that raises the tax levy by about 1.8 percent.  That is under state property tax cap.
The vote Monday night was unanimous with council members praising the work of the administration of Mayor Robert Rolison and City Administrator Marc Nelson.
Officials acknowledge the city is not out of the woods financially, but the spending plan is another step toward that goal.
