KINGSTON – The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Hurley man on a charge of statutory rape in connection with a sexual encounter with a 16-year-old girl.
On November 16, deputies received a complaint about a sexual offense in the Town of Esopus. It was reported that a 16-year-old girl had engaged in sex with a 23- or 24-year-old man. Detectives identified the suspect as Vasquez, who was located at his residence in the Town of Hurley on November 21.
Jose Vasquez, 23, charged following an investigation. He was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $15,000 bond.
