MIDDLETOWN – “Generation Z” young entrepreneurs are being given a helping hand at the Middletown Accelerator on the campus of Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine.
The Accelerator, powered by the Orange County Industrial Development Agency, has been providing incubator space for businesses and now it is reaching out to the younger generation of start-ups with its WEB – Workplace for Emerging Businesses, said IDA Chief Operating Officer Laurie Villasuso.
“It’s a free space for young entrepreneurs who are in college – we are working right now with students at OCCC and SUNY New Paltz – and we are giving them common spaces and use of the conference room to help get their businesses up and running,” she said.
At present there are four student businesses at the Middletown Accelerator. Villasuso said they are “excited to harness the young talent” as they grow their businesses.
