The Lofts, under construction

POUGHKEEPSIE – The 69-unit Queen City Lofts in Poughkeepsie, the
latest project of the Kearney Realty and Development Group, will be ready
for occupancy near in the new year.
Fifty of the apartments will be available for income-eligible artists while the other 19 will be offered to middle income residents.
The $24 million housing project, at 138 Main Street, will select residents in January through a lottery system, said company CEO Kenneth Kearney.
“In the last two or three weeks there has been a tremendous feedback from the artist community as the word spreads,” Kearney said. “We have artists calling us from New York City, lower Westchester, and as far north as Kingston and Woodstock.”
Queen City Lofts is emulating Kearney’s Lofts on Main in Peekskill.
Kearney has also completed Poughkeepsie Commons and West End Lofts in Poughkeepsie and is developing West End Lofts in Beacon.
