State provides $49 million in grants for area municipal water infrastructure projects

ALBANY – A total of 38 critical municipal water infrastructure projects will receive $49.1 million to provide upgrades. The funding comes from the state’s Water Infrastructure Improvement Act and Intermunicipal Grant programs.
The latest announcement is part of $270 million in grants being awarded to communities including over $19 million to support projects that address cyanotoxins associated with harmful algal blooms, and previously announced grants of $15 for projects addressing PFOA, PFOS and 1,4 dioxane.
The largest grant in this round goes to The Town of Greenburgh, which will receive $4.8 million to be applied to a $12.1 million drinking water project.
Rockland County of will receive $3.37 million toward a $13.5 million project.
The Village of Warwick will receive $3 million toward a $12.25 million
