New Rochelle man indicted for murder of homeless woman

WHITE PLAINS – A homeless man living in New Rochelle has been indicted for murder in the death of a homeless woman outside a vacant armory building on Main Street in that city.
A Westchester County grand jury indicted Jose Olmos, 29, on three counts of murder in the beating death of Nurten Seljuk on July 27. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison without parole.
Prosecutors allege that in the early morning hours of Friday, July 27, Olmos followed the 60-year-old woman for some time in the area of Main Street in New Rochelle then on the property of the vacant naval armory at 270 Main, he robbed her and beat her to death.
Olmos was arrested the following day.
