KINGSTON – The new owners of the Rondout Golf Club in Accord have applied for financial incentives from the Ulster County Industrial Development Agency and on Wednesday, the proposal was advanced to the public hearing stage.
The facility will be branded as Inness NY and will see a $20 million transformation of the 137-acre property to include a full-service hotel, resort and golf course.
The project would retain two jobs and create at least 10 more with the opportunity for an independent spa contractor and golf professionals, according to the IDA. The golf club is presently closed.
Inness NY is seeking a sales tax exemption on building materials, exemption from mortgage filing fees and a 10-year payment-in-lieu of taxes agreement on property improvements.
Among the facilities and amenities planned for the property are a restaurant, retail shop, café and lobby; hotel with 12 rooms; approximately 28 cabins; an event barn; a spa and gym, an outfitter retail shop; swimming pool; two tennis courts; a new nine-hole golf course; a 2.2 mile loop walking trail; and three acres of vegetable garden, flower garden and orchards.
The application for the IDA incentives noted that “without the incentives we would not be able to secure the financing and would not be able to execute the project as visioned.”
