Suspect nabbed in Town of Poughkeepsie bank robbery — News Update!

Police at the scene (Special to MHNN)

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Police are investigating the robbery of
the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union branch on South Road near IBM in
the Town of Poughkeepsie.

Police said the man entered the bank told a teller he had a gun and demanded
money. He placed the cash in a bag and fled.

Nicholas Salfelder, 33, of LaGrangeville was sheld pending charges being
filed.

There were no injuries and no gun was displayed.

The crime occurred in the early afternoon and within minutes town police
stopped a vehicle on Spackenkill Road and have a possible suspect in custody.

The investigation is continuing.
