Sex offender suspect extradited from Texas

LIVINGSTON – A Bandera, Texas man was extradited to New York to face a charge of criminal sex act.
John Acklin, 55, was arrested by New York State Police PCI investigators on Thursday.
In 2017, troopers began an investigation into reports of sexual assault that occurred over 10 years ago, in the Town of Livingston. Working with law enforcement in the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Rangers in Bandera County, Acklin was located and arrested as a fugitive from Justice on October 25.
He was through the cooperation of the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office.
Acklin is in the Columbia County Jail without bail.
