Firefighters stand by as hot spots are doused and a large backhoe
levels what is left of the building

TOWN OF WALLKILL – The building that once housed the former Rusty
Nail Restaurant on Dunning Road in the Town of Wallkill went up in flames
early Thursday morning.

The fire that was called in around 3:30 a.m., brought out firefighters
from Mechanicstown and a number of other area departments.

By mid-morning, a fire crew was still hosing down the rubble while a large
crane leveled what was rest of the structure.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Orange County Fire
Investigation Team and State Police.
