ALBANY – The three land banks in the region have secured additional funds through the state attorney general’s office.
The longest operating land bank, the Newburgh Community Land Bank, will receive $2 million. The Kingston City Land Bank will receive $500,000.  Sullivan County’s Land Bank will get $900,000.
Land banks acquire blighted homes and transform them into community assets.
The latest round of funding will be administered by Enterprise Community Partners.
The attorney general’s office has provided over $82 million to land banks around the state from funding it secured through settlements with the nation’s largest banks over misconduct that contributed to the housing crisis.
