Woman killed in car-deer crash on the Palisades

TOWN OF CLARKSTOWN – A
50-year-old Spring Valley woman was killed Thursday evening while she
was a passenger in a car that struck a deer around 6:45 p.m.

Miriam Kofi was in a car traveling southbound on the Palisades Interstate
Parkway south of exit 11 in the Town of Clarkstown when the vehicle, driven
by Thomas Kofi, 68, of Spring Valley, struck a deer in the road.

The car veered off the road onto the grass median where it overturned
into a wooded area striking several trees.

The victim was removed from the car unconscious and was pronounced dead
at Nyack Hospital.

Thomas Kofi was transported to Westchester Medical Center with internal
injuries.
