CATSKILL – State Police are still trying to solve the 18-year-old
case of a woman found murdered in the Hudson River south of the City of
Hudson.

On September 30, 2000, two duck hunters discovered a woman’s body
on the east shoreline of the river in a secluded area at a boat launch
off Hallenback Road in Greenport.

The victim was identified as Jacqueline McCalop, 43, of Catskill, who
died of stab wounds to her torso.

She had not been seen by her family since September 14, 2000 and reported
her missing 10 days after that.

She was a black woman, five feet, five inches tall, and weighing about
110 pounds.

Police have followed up many leads, but the case has not been solved and
police believe someone in the City of Hudson has information that could
lead to an arrest.

Anyone with information is asked to call the State Police Bureau of Criminal
investigation at 845-677-7300 or 518-851-2001.

All calls may be kept confidential.
