KINGSTON – Four 12-year-old children have been identified by Kingston City Police as those who painted graffiti in a number of locations on Sunday, October 21.
The graffiti, including swastikas, “666,” stars, and other tags, were done for shock value rather than hate, police said on Monday.
The investigation, corroborated by evidence, showed the graffiti was
sprayed where it was convenient. They were not spreading an ideology or
belief, nor where they targeting any one individual, group, or identity
in particular, police said.
Although the crime struck many emotions in the community, it was not motivated by bias of race, sex, religion or other prejudice, authorities said.
The investigation is continuing.
