NEW BALTIMORE – A 61-year-old
Athens, New York man was killed late Tuesday afternoon when the pickup
truck he was driving struck the rear of a vehicle stopped to turn left
onto Kretimier Road from Route 9W in New Baltimore and then struck a concrete
culvert.
State Police identified the victim as Mark Sterritt, 61, who was pronounced
dead at the scene.
The driver of the stopped vehicle, an 18-year-old man from Hannacroix,
and two occupants in his vehicle, were not injured.
Troopers were assisted at the scene of the 4 p.m. crash by the Greene
County Sheriff’s Office and New Baltimore Fire Department.
