NEWBURGH – Investigators from the Orange County District Attorney’s Office executed a search warrant at Newburgh Free Academy in the City of Newburgh on Tuesday. Multiple law enforcement sources indicated that thousands of emails and student attendance records were seized from Newburgh school district computers.
The sources said it appears the investigation relates to the class-cutting scandals dating back to 2010 involving high school athletes and potential new infractions.
At least a half-dozen school district personnel, including Superintendent Roberto Padilla have hired attorneys, in the wake of Tuesday’s actions, sources told Mid-Hudson News.
