WHITE PLAINS – A former school bus driver for the Bedford Central School District faces up to seven years in state prison when sentenced in Westchester County Court in January.
Brayan Arias, 23, of Brewster, pled guilty on Tuesday to the violent felony of sexual abuse.
Arias was a Fox Lane Middle School bus driver who was arrested in May by Westchester County Police in Mount Kisco after they received information that Arias was going to meet a victim under 13 for a sexual encounter in a shopping mall parking lot. He had met the victim on one other occasion where he fondled the child inside his vehicle, Scarpino said.
Police staked out the parking lot after they notified the victim’s family. Arias showed up and was arrested. The child was not present at the time.
District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. said the charges were based on an earlier incident and text messages to the victim.
