NEWBURGH – The Accelerator powered by the Orange County Industrial Development Agency opens its newest venue this week in the City of Newburgh.
Ziel, an on-demand manufacturer of athletic apparel, begins production at 605 Broadway, a former women’s coat factory.
IDA Chief Operating Officer Laurie Villasuso said Ziel will start with five employees with the three-year-old company having growth plans in the region.
“For here their estimate is for the end of 2019 they will have 50 employees in Newburgh,” Villasuso said. “That’s an estimate, but at the way things are going and the way the owner of the company has managed to work with a lot of new exciting opportunities, that number could be even bigger.”
Until now, Ziel has been operating from facilities in New York City and Newark.
The IDA’s program has business incubators in New Windsor, adjacent to Stewart Airport, and at the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Middletown.
