MID-HUDSON – A Poughkeepsie man has been arrested by State Police from the Wappinger barrack on a felony grand larceny charge.
Troopers said back in May, Michael Horowitz, 27, allegedly stole two
vacuums and a Dell desktop computer from the BJ’s Wholesale store
on Route 9 in the Town of Wappinger. The total value of the merchandise
was $1,600. After four months of investigation, Horowitz was identified
as a suspect and arrested. He was released on an appearance ticket.
In an unrelated case, Clarkstown Police arrested Juan Hernandez, 30, of Elmhurst, and Jeffrey Giraldo, 32, of Jackson Heights, for allegedly stealing over $1,213 worth of clothing from the Lord and Taylor store at the Palisades Mall in West Nyack. The men were apprehended as they ran from the scene.
Both were charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property as felonies and a misdemeanor of criminal possession of an anti-security device. Bail was set at $10,000 for Hernandez and $5,000 for Giraldo.
