NEW CITY – The Rockland County Sheriff’s Deputies Association has a new contract.
County Executive Edwin Day signed the resolution ratifying the memorandum of agreement for the period of January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2019.
“This new contract is important to the sheriff’s deputies,” said deputies’ association President Omar Munoz. “It allows us to focus on the future and continue protecting residents of Rockland County to the best of our ability.”
Day, a retired member of law enforcement, was pleased to sign the resolution. “The sheriff’s deputies play a key role in providing for the safety and security of Rockland residents.”
Day called on the county legislature to appropriate additional funds to cover other unresolved county employee contracts.
