Cortlandt man arrested for stealing property from car

CORTLANDT – State Police arrested a Cortlandt man on charged of grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, and criminal mischief, all felonies, in connection with a larceny from a vehicle.
Naseem Shad, 37, was also charged with identity theft, possession of burglar’s tools and criminal possession of a controlled substance, all as misdemeanors.
Troopers were called to Springvale Road in Cortlandt on September 13 for a report of the car larceny. Investigation found Shad had broken into the vehicle and later used the credit cards he stolen to make several illegal purchases.
At the time of his arrest, Shad was found with a mask, bolt cutters, and stolen items from other crimes. A small amount of Adderall was also recovered.
Shad was sent to the Westchester County Jail without bail pending a future court appearance.
