Health Alliance awarded federal grant for mental health awareness

KINGSTON – The US Department
of Health and Human Services, through the Center for Mental Health Services,
has announced a $123,000 grant to assist the HealthAlliance Hospital,
Mary’s Avenue Campus to increase awareness of mental health in the
community by training others on how to identify and appropriately respond
to individuals with mental illness.

“HealthAlliance and WMCHealth are deeply committed to providing
Kingston area residents with convenience access to quality healthcare
services in the communities where they live,” said Westchester Medical
Center Health Network President Michael Israel. “As the largest
provider of mental health services in the Hudson Valley, providing accessible
mental health care and working with our community partners to offer crucial
services and education is a priority across the Westchester Medical Center
Health Network.”

The grant was announced by Congressman John Faso.
