MID-HUDSON – Three incidents
involving children, first thought to be suspicious, have proved no danger
to youngsters.

Around 6 p.m. on Monday, October 1, Poughkeepsie Town Police were made
aware of a suspicious incident involving possible child-luring.
The incident occurred on Spackenkill Road at about 3:45 p.m., involving
a 14-year-old-girl and the driver of a white commercial van.

On October 3, police identified and located the vehicle and driver, a
38-year-old Florida, New York man. Police said no charged will be filed.

At about 8:30 in the morning on Wednesday, October 3, Marlborough Town
Police investigated a report of an attempted child abduction. The incident
was reported to have taken place on Plattekill Road in Marlboro.

The investigation revealed that an attempted child abduction did not occur.
Police said the driver and vehicle were identified and the driver’s
actions were misinterpreted.

Police called it an isolated incident and there is no reason to believe
that anyone was in any danger.

In a third incident, this one at Monroe-Woodbury Middle School, on Wednesday,
someone wrote a bomb threat on a bathroom wall. The school principal pulled
the fire alarm as a precautionary move. Police investigated and found
no threat.
