Deputies show what a half million dollars worth of marijuana looks like

TOWN OF BETHEL – A traffic stop on Hurd Road in the Town of Bethel Monday afternoon led to the arrest of the driver on three felony counts of marijuana possession.
Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies seized 147 pounds of the drug with an estimated street value of $500,000.

Calvo

When a deputy pulled over Ibere Calvo, 58, of Swan Lake, he smelled a pungent odor or marijuana and a search of Calvo’s pickup truck yielded 15 pounds of pot.
Working with Bethel constables, deputies identified two locations tied to Calvo. At 491 Hurd Road, investigators found 92 pounds of marijuana and at 54 Laymon Road they seized another 40 pounds.
Calvo was sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bail.
