GOSHEN – There will be no raises for elected Orange County officials any time soon. The county legislature scrapped the plan that would have seen raises for lawmakers themselves as well as the county executive and county clerk.
Legislature Chairman Stephen Brescia pulled the topic from a joint committee agenda on Monday noting County Executive Steven Neuhaus said last week that if the plan were adopted, he would veto it.
It was unclear if the legislature could have mustered the two-thirds majority to override that veto.
