STEWART AIRPORT – The UN General Assembly is holding its annual session in New York City this week and that means more business for New York Stewart International Airport. As usual, dozens of foreign dignitaries park their aircraft at the Newburgh area facility, noted Stewart Business Development Director Michael Torelli.
“We have excess of 45 aircraft here on hardstand for the UN General Assembly. We allow them to keep their assets here and it’s a good revenue producer for both the airport and the fixed base operator. It’s a banner year for the UN and they will be here throughout the week.”
Air Force One typically parks at Stewart at the Air National Guard Base, while the President addresses the General Assembly, which he did yesterday.
