Cortlandt man arrested after breaking into house and forcing himself on victim

CORTLANDT – A Cortlandt man was arrested by State Police after
he allegedly broke into a residence on Henning Drive in the Town of Cortlandt
and forced himself on a victim there.
Andrew Ortner, 343, was charged with felonies of burglary and assault and misdemeanors of forcible touching, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.
Police were called to the home around 5 p.m. on September 23 for a report of a burglary in progress. They found Ortner broke into the home and attacked the victim.
He resisted briefly while being taken into custody and during processing used his head to damage state property before being restrained by troopers.
Ortner was sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
Orders of protection were issued for all members of the burglarized residence.
