Lots to see in the air and on the ground, for thousands of spectators

STEWART AIRPORT – Last weekend’s annual New York Air Show at New York Stewart International Airport near Newburgh was more than just an exciting attraction for the tens of thousands of spectators.
It will have positive residual effects for the future of the airport, Stewart Manager Ed Harrison said.
“Having the Thunderbirds from the United States Air Force fly here, we are showing the world that we have one of the longest runways in the world and are capable of doing anything,” Harrison said. “We are showing airlines from around the world that Stewart Airport is access to the New York market. That’s why we call it New York Stewart International.”
Stewart offers travelers both domestic and international service with airport officials continuing to lobby airlines to provide additional service to other destinations.
