GOSHEN – A Highland Falls
man, who previously pled guilty to three counts of sexual abuse, was sentenced
in Orange County Court on Tuesday to three consecutive prison terms of
five years for a total of 15 years. When released from prison, Anthony
Martinez, 19, would face a 10-year period of post-release supervision.
At the time Martinez pled guilty, he admitted having subjected three children,
each under the age of 11, to sexual contact. He was 18 at the time he
committed the acts of sexual abuse.
“The sexual abuse of children cannot be tolerated and my staff is
dedicated to bringing sexual abusers to justice,” said District
Attorney David Hoovler. “The disposition of this defendant’s
case will remove him from society for about a decade and a half, so that
he will not be able to abuse other children for a significant amount of
time.”
