MID-HUDSON – One person was killed and several others injured in two accidents on Route 17 this weekend.

At around 11 p.m. Saturday, a car crashed near exit 112 eastbound in the Town of Mamakating. One person was ejected and killed. Other people in the vehicle were injured.
Earlier on Saturday night, a car traveling the wrong way on the exit 121 ramp of Route 17 onto I-84 in the Town of Wallkill struck other vehicles. Three adults and two children were reported injured with one person said to be unresponsive at the scene.
On Sunday afternoon in the Town of Tuxedo, a person was reported to have drowned while in Lake Skannatati near Seven Lakes Drive. Emergency divers were called to the scene.
Around mid-afternoon in the Arlington area of the Town of Poughkeepsie, a coroner was called to Colette Drive near Oak Grove Lane for a report of a death.
In the Town of Yorktown at around 1 p.m. on Sunday, a person jumped off the northbound Taconic State Parkway into water.
There was no other information immediately available on any of the incidents.
Expect very heavy heading home traffic later today, especially on Route 17 and the Thruway.
