POUGHKEEPSIE – A North Carolina man wanted in the January 27, 2018 shooting death of a Poughkeepsie man is being sought by police.
Robert Whitaker, 38, has been indicted by a Dutchess County grand jury on a charge of murder and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Noel McClinton was shot several times in front of the Fireman’s Exempt Club at 200 Mansion Street. An investigation by Poughkeepsie City Police and the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office resulted in Whitaker’s indictment.
Whitaker is from the Northampton County area of North Carolina, but he has been traveling between North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.
