NEWBURGH – The US Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded a $250,000 grant to the Newburgh Housing Authority to improve safety at its Mullins Apartments in the city. The complex consists of 70 townhouse-style apartments.
The money will fund installation of cameras, better lighting and fencing at the complex on Walsh Road.
“The safety of our residents in the Newburgh Housing Authority’s top priority, and we’re excited to make security upgrades at the Mullins Apartment Complex which will protect the families who live there,” said Housing Authority Executive Director Lawrence Jackson.
Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney announced the grant.
