Man charged with hit-and-run accident on Route 17

MONTICELLO – A 30-year-old Bronx man has been charged with leaving
the scene of an accident and driving while ability impaired following
an incident on Route 17 westbound in the vicinity of exit 109 in Rock
Hill.

Police received a 911 call of a collision on the highway shortly after
8 p.m. on Saturday, August 25.

A gray Mazda sedan was reported to have left the scene and was being followed
by a witness. A few minutes later a State Police unit spotted the vehicle
on Route 17B hear the racino.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver, identified as Nathan Zucker, of
the Bronx, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving
while ability impaired by drugs.

Deputies also determined that Zucker was on probation in the Bronx for
possession of a controlled substance.

He posted $100 bail and ordered to reappear in Thompson Town Court at
a later date.
